Main Setup

  • Genetic Label (1)
  • 1. today's date: month/day/year, for example January 1, 2000 would be: 01012000
    2. today's process number, e.g. the first process is 01
These information is needed to set a unique name for every shader. A complete genetic label contains date/process number/generation number/child number. For example, the data file of child C1 at generation number 3 will have the name:  GS_01012000_01_3_0_C1.dat
The extra "_0" before C1 is reserved for future usage.

  • Start Generation
  • Index of first generation
    default is 1
  • End Generation
  • Index of last generation (2)

  • MGP New Pool
  • Size of the MGP New Pool
    default is 200
  • Other MGP Pools (3)
  • Size of the MGP Main, Illumination, and Chromatic Pools
    default is 200

    Notes:

    (1) It is important that you provide the date and the process number before starting a new generation, otherwise previously saved shaders in your database may be overridden by new shaders.

    (2) If you hit Generation-> Generate Once, the End Generation would be equal to the Start Generation

    (3) If Interactive score is on,  the MGP would not be updated because there is no score. But, if automatic score is on, new higher scored shaders would replace lower scored shaders when this maximum is exceeded.
