Spartcus Rat was done at Click3x as
part of a TV pilot for Paramount. The animators used SoftImage software
with Softman as the pipe to RenderMan. I wrote all of the RenderMan
shaders for the rats and their props. There are 11 different shaders
for each of the 5 types of rat. The weapons are old wood and beat-up,
rusted metal. Then there are the cardboard boxes in the moving scene.
All of these shaders involve procedural displacement as well as color
patterning.
