This is the current release of prman AND the current alpha mray
New stuff to watch for in the MRAY version:
- All the primitives are now available in MRAY.
- New buttons in the ROE: min/max sampling, shadow, trace & faces
- Spotlight stuff is working now
- Cleaner indenting for the shader declaration and structs
- C++ style commenting
Bug fixes for both mray and prman:
- Browser should now see new filenames each time browser is openned
- During render, help info is NOT saved in the source, so line numbers are again consistent with the line numbers in 'View Shader'
Known bugs in mental ray:
- Some of the stree files may not render when loaded, due to changes I've made to the ROE. If an stree file won't render, bring up the ROE, and double check:
  - 'Object Zoom' should be -4.0, and NOT 4.0
  - 'Subdivisions' should be 1.0, and NOT 'off'
  - 'Shader' should be:
    - 'displace', and NOT 'displacemet'
    - 'material', and NOT 'surface'
  ..to fix these, just reselect one of the options in the ROE, then retry your render. If it renders, just 'Save' the stree file, so that it will load and render correctly next time.
These stree files should definitely load and render without problems:

- checkered.stree
- diamondblue.stree
- fire.stree
- granite_displace.stree
- spotlight.stree

ShadeTree 1.0.10 (uploaded 12/06/96 - [email protected])

Added 'Render To A File/Screen' to the Render Options Editor.
A render button was added next to the FREEZE button, for easy access to rendering.
Much stuff beneath the surface was changed to support message passing for all save/load operations.
Frame Range in the Render Options Editor now affects all the primitive renders. Select 'Render To A File', and then set a frame range to render an animated sequence.
More examples were fixed due to the default ambient light tweaks back in version 1.0.0.
Fonts for the Min/Max fields in sliders were made smaller, to visually differentiate them from the actual data values.
The string slider (and generic slider) now support an 'Options' menu button. Fixed strings can be programmed into the menu.. for a simple example, see the 'ctransform' box, and note the new Options button for the FROM and TO sliders.
The 'File' button can now be disabled via the box defs files.. for strings that should not need to ever be filenames. (Not all boxes were updated to take advantage of this new feature)
Version number was jumped from 1.0.3 to 1.0.10, because the format of the defs files changed, we jumped the version number to indicate a loss of backwards compatibility with the box defs files.
The 'corner' primitive now rotates the sphere without affecting the background checker pattern.
PARTIALLY IMPLEMENTED. The main program now generates an intermediate '.stargs' file whenever a render or save shader operation is performed. Implemented, but not yet used, this file aids in the creation of third party shader information files, such as pixar's .sli and SoftImage's .cus/.mat files.
